Since 1940, a significantly larger percentage of adults have college degrees. It became more desirable, then more affordable, then more common. Now a mere college degree isn’t as desired. A master’s is now what is desired.This infographic, shared by Good, is a great way of showing the commonness of a college degree over time. Discuss with your upper secondary students their thoughts on this. What their plans are after graduation. If they plan on pursuing a bachelor’s, or if they plan on going further. Ask them what they believe what they will learn as an undergrad and as a grad student. Bring in professors from each level, and a human resources employee to share the reasoning behind hiring someone with a bachelor’s.
