The Geography of Jobs

This one is a bit of a downer, but it has much to say about the United States. It’s an interactive infographic, from
TIP Strategies, that traces the gain and loss of jobs in the U.S. since 2004. Things are going well until you see something big happening in the gulf coast, and then 2008 and it all turns red. But the red started earlier and what does it tell us about the regions of the U.S. when we can see where things started going wrong. It’s an interesting and revealing study of economics, geography, history, and using motion, image and color to communicate.
