Today’s infographic shows the communication between people in different counties across the nation. It compares annonymous calls, and sms communications, and the findings were very interesting.
States with a common historical background were often more connected, for instance North and South Carolina. These remained connected no matter the form of communication. But some other states, such as Tennessee and West Virginia loose their affiliation.
It would be interesting to compare this infographic with migration patterns across the United States. With increasing transportation it is interesting to see that most communications are still within surrounding states. It would also be interesting to speculate the role of sms messaging and phone calls and why there are calls between certain counties and states, but not sms messaging.
