I found this graphic while looking for this one on Flickr. The graphic to the right is actually the type of thing that one might have found in a text book years ago. The one below probably reflects the increased access more of us have to advanced graphic tools — but it says pretty much the same thing.

I believe what impresses me the most about this infographic is the way that it “ingeniously” conveys the scope of time and the relative recentness of life on the earth, and especially the snap of a finger that has seen human existence.
